DAY 7: Extra Gooey Rice Krispies Treats

These are your traditional Rice Krispies Treats on steroids! Extra mini marshmallows are added, but not completely melted. And additional cereal makes for thick and gooey bars. (Christmas Sprinkles optional)

Extra Gooey Rice Krispies Treats

6 Tbs butter plus additional butter for greasing pan
1 (12 oz) pkg large marshmallows
3 cups mini marshmallows
1 Tbs vanilla extract
1 (12 oz) box Rice Krispies cereal (9-10 cups)
Optional: Candy sprinkles (about 3 Tbs)

Butter a 9×13” pan.

Melt butter in large pan over low heat. Stir in large marshmallows until melted. Remove from heat. Add mini marshmallows and vanilla and stir very briefly (do not totally melt mini marshmallows) and then stir in cereal until coated.

Press cereal mixture into buttered pan using a buttered spatula. If using, sprinkle warm cereal bars with candy sprinkles. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Makes about 24 squares
